Popfly is a fast-growing software company built for the creator economy—helping brands and creators co-create content, collaborate seamlessly, and drive real business results. Our product has strong product-market fit, high retention, and is fundamentally changing the way brands work with creators. Now, we’re looking for our first-ever Account Executive to take sales beyond the founder and help us scale.

What This Role is Like

We’re looking for builders and problem solvers—someone who doesn’t expect an existing stream but digs trenches, reroutes the water, sets up dams, and makes the catch.

Expect to make it happen on your own, and feed off that challenge.

We’re looking for competitive soul, an adaptable closer who understands the nuances of sales, knows when to walk away from a bad fit, and when to press in and close.

Success in this role means working 40 hours per week generating and closing deals and spending another 10 hours per week creating content that attracts our ideal customers.

You’ll work directly by the founder, who is also on commission, meaning you’ll work with someone who understands sales at the ground level.

Applicants should have: a demonstrated track record of success, and when we call your references, they say you were a positive force within the organization—even when things went poorly.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Own outbound sales efforts—prospect, build pipeline, and close new business.
  • Run full-cycle sales—from cold outreach to contract execution.
  • Create content (emails, LinkedIn posts, insights, etc.) to engage our ICP.
  • Deeply understand the product and market, tailoring your pitch accordingly.
  • Analyze sales data to refine outreach and maximize conversion rates.
  • Work directly with the founder to iterate on sales strategy and execution.
  • Operate with urgency and adaptability in a fast-paced startup environment.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of proven sales experience with a track record of exceeding targets.
  • Experience closing deals end-to-end—from prospecting to contract execution.
  • Strong outbound sales skills—cold outreach, networking, and pipeline generation.
  • Self-sufficient, resourceful, and adaptable—you don’t need hand-holding.
  • You want to work in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment.
  • Willing to put in the hours needed to exceed quota.

Preferred

  • Experience selling to brands, agencies, or content teams (UGC, creator economy, influencer marketing, or ad tech experience a plus).
  • SaaS sales experience—ideally a mix of product-led and outbound sales strategies.
  • Former entrepreneurs and business owners are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Former or current influencers and content creators.

Compensation & Work Environment

  • $65,000 - $80,000 base salary + uncapped commission (at-par commissions expected to be $100,000+).
  • Directly led by the founder, who is also on commission.
  • Must be based in or relocate to Orange County, CA and work from the Costa Mesa office most days with core team.
